Jared
The best dad and partner ever. He packs the heavy stuff, cooks the yummiest food, and builds the neatest things. He’s also down for anything.
Taffin
Oh hey, its me. Mama, creative director and editor, and planner of all the things. Tea drinker, book lover and runner.
Scout
Scout, 7 month old hiker baby. He is the boss man and runs the show. We are here to foster his love for all things outdoors like ourselves.
Whisky & Echo
This cuddle-bug, bear alarm, and mountain goat duo, Whisky & Echo, are both eight-year-old rescues from ARF. They are who push us to get outside and adventure, but also remind us to have slow days and relax by the fire on the acreage.
Our Story
Met
We met briefly in 2015 but didn’t reconnect again until summer 2016 at a music festival where Jared’s brother said to me, “have you met Jared?” (iykyk).
Eloped
We decided to elope in the summer of 2020, on our 4 year anniversary, in the middle of the global pandemic! We had a secret backpacking elopement with only our parents in attendance. Whisky was our best dog (we hadn’t adopted Echo yet!).
Home
We recently bought a small fixer-upper acreage and are currently working on the renovation process. We can’t wait to make it our forever (for now?) home.
Now
Ten years later (six married), we have a beautiful 7-month old baby boy, two rescue dogs, a little piece of land, and we are working on fulfilling our homesteading and adventuring dreams together.
In our blog, we share not only about our most epic adventures, but also our life at home, the good and the bad. We are as candid as possible about our stories, and truly love sharing what we’ve learned, and continue to learn, from the bottom of our hearts.
